Snowbound's SnowServ for the Java platform is a new, lightweight HTML-based thin client that was developed as a supplement to the SnapServ applet client front-end. This solution works very well for customers who cannot use applets in their client interface.
Using Snowbound's special technology and expert imaging techniques, this new product re-invents thin client imaging. Offering local panning and scrolling, plus specially enhanced server-based processing, the result is extremely high-speed response without requiring an applet download.
Although commonly using Java technology, many of Snowbound's customers have also expressed a need for thin (HTML) clients for users who have restrictions on using applets. SnowServ solves this concern and all issues of security, proxy servers and firewalls are eliminated because only HTML is used for the client. Though there are examples of thin client usage on the Web, for example, travel sites that allow you to pinpoint, zoom in and zoom out of a location on a map, Snowbound has taken the concept to the next level, achieving unmatched performance, quality and capabilities. |
